  1. Enrollment: Athletes must be enrolled as full-time students at their participating educational institution during the academic year in which they wish to compete.
  2. Age Eligibility: Student-athletes must born no earlier than the year 1998.
  3. Citizenship: Participants must be citizens of the Philippines or have legal residency status in the country.

Sports Offered

National Intercollegiate Forum for Athletes (NIFA) offers various sports for student-athletes to compete in. Currently, only the basketball tournament will be offered for the first season. However, we are already planning to expand our sports offering next season to the following sports to become a part of our league:

  1. Men’s Basketball: A highly competitive basketball league that provides a platform for aspiring basketball players to showcase their skills and teamwork.

  2. Women’s Volleyball: An exciting volleyball competition where female athletes can demonstrate their agility, strength, and teamwork on the court.

  3. Men and Women’s Track and Field: Track and field events offer opportunities for athletes to excel in various disciplines, including sprints, long-distance running, jumping, and throwing.

NIFA may expand its sports offerings in the future, providing even more opportunities for student-athletes to engage in their favorite sports.

UBI Rewards

At NIFA, we believe that every student-athlete’s dedication and effort deserve recognition and support. That’s why all student-athletes who participate in NIFA competitions will receive the Universal Basic Income (UBI) program, generously provided by our partner, Bangko Maharlika Ltd. Unlike traditional rewards systems, UBI is not limited to winning; it’s about empowering all participants.

Regardless of the outcome of the games, every student-athlete fielded by their respective schools will become recipients of the UBI program. This initiative is designed to ensure that student-athletes can pursue their academic and athletic goals without financial constraints. It’s our way of acknowledging the commitment and hard work of all participants.

NIFA is committed to fostering a supportive environment where every student-athlete can thrive, regardless of the game’s results. We believe in the potential of each participant and aim to provide opportunities for growth and development both on and off the field.
